Frequently asked questions
Is OakBag investment advice?
No. OakBag is an educational and research tool. The scores are automated model outputs, not recommendations to buy or sell. Always do your own research.
How much does it cost?
The core — all 1,850+ stocks, the traffic light, fair value and risk flags — is free, just an email, no credit card. Pro adds a whole-portfolio watchlist with custom alerts, score history, CSV exports and advanced filters & compare, from $12/month (or $99/year); cancel anytime.
Why do I need an account to see the analyses?
The analyses are available after a free sign-up. It lets us sustain the service and later add personal features such as watchlists.
Where does the data come from?
From public third-party sources (e.g. Yahoo Finance, SEC EDGAR, ApeWisdom). Data may be delayed or inaccurate and is provided “as is”.
Can OakBag email me when something changes?
Yes — with Pro. Star the stocks you follow, then set portfolio-wide triggers: when a stock turns green, when its score rises or falls past a number of points you pick, or when retail attention spikes. OakBag checks regularly and sends a single digest email so you never miss a move (and never get spammed).
How is fair value calculated?
A blend of discounted cash flow (DCF) and peer market multiples, adjusted for quality and risk factors. That yields the margin of safety and the traffic-light colour.
Which stocks do you cover?
Currently over 1,850 mostly US stocks. We keep expanding the universe.
